Eyes of Eternity

I wrote this song when I was thinking about being a full-time mommy or part-time work and looking for a role model. Turns out almost everyone around me were mommies who worked. I looked at the kids today and social issues that surrounds them. Children are doing their own thing without guidance and directions and yet parents are travelling, making a career, making money, making what sounds like life.
People making decisions of not having children for better “quality of life”. Children getting themselves into all sorts of trouble; depression, suicidal, cutting themselves up. ” I looked at what the Bible say about bringing up a family; teach them, when sitting or standing or walking. I hear parents tell me, its not about the how much time you spend with them, its the quality. James Dobson of Focus on Family had this to say ” Can a piece of good quality steak be good enough to just have it once? I totally agree. People live for the here and now, but the Bible exhorts us to look at things with eyes of eternity.

Do you know of anyone who has given up a career to be a Stay At Home Mom (SAHM)? Do you know anyone who because of what they did for their children is an inspiration??

Life searches for a purpose
People dodging reasons
For seasons of temporal changes

Clinging onto things that are worthless
A wind of change
Flowers in the rain

Chorus:
Give me eyes of eternity
Set my footings right
wherever I am now
To go where you want me to be

Courage to let go
Wisdom to say no
Strength to keep the faith

Bridge:
Find a place
To sail in your wind
A song of freedom I seek

This is the moment of intimacy
Drink of the solitude you put in me
Leaving nothing to chance
Or situational analysis

Chorus:
Give me eyes of eternity
Set my footings right
wherever I am now
To go where you want me to be

Courage to let go
Wisdom to say no
Strength to keep the faith
